The Murphy USA in Lake Wales City offers a convenient stop for travelers and locals alike. The staff is generally friendly and helpful, with some reviewers praising their efficiency and courtesy. The gas prices are among the lowest in the area, making it a popular choice for those looking to save money. The store also offers a variety of snacks and drinks, as well as a convenience store with essentials like cigarettes and lottery tickets. However, some reviewers have noted that the store can be quite small, which can make it difficult to navigate and find what you need. Additionally, there have been some reports of issues with the vacuum pumps, which can be frustrating for customers. One notable aspect of the Murphy USA is its commitment to supporting underrepresented communities. The business identifies as women-owned, veteran-owned, and Black-owned, which is a positive step towards diversity and inclusion.Overall, the Murphy USA is a solid choice for those in need of a quick stop for gas and other essentials. While it may have some minor issues, the staff and prices make it a worthwhile destination. The most prominent issue to be highlighted is the inconsistent and potentially misleading sign about the store's closing time, as evidenced by one reviewer who found it closed at 11:30 PM despite the sign saying 12. This suggests that the store's hours may not always be accurately represented, which can be confusing for customers.
