This location is a great spot for travelers and families with children. The beach is good for kids and offers a lot of space for them to run around and play. The place has a rich history, as it is a historical landmark with a lot of historical significance. To access the location, it is recommended to bring a kayak or paddleboard, as the entrance is not suitable for larger boats. However, there are some issues with the trails, as some of them are closed.One thing to be aware of is the presence of Eastern Diamondback Rattlesnakes on the island. But it is mentioned that they will likely hear you before you see them, making it less of a concern. Be sure to bring plenty of water, especially if you plan to hike from the main concession area. The water supply might be limited in the summer due to the abundance of mosquitoes. However, a good freeze can help alleviate this issue. In the winter, the mosquito problem seems to be less severe. Make sure to bring enough food and water for the day, as there are no amenities on the island. Some of the visitors mentioned that they had to drag an old picnic table down from the main concession area, so it's possible to have a picnic here. The best way to access the location is to rent a kayak from a company like Coconut Kayak Tours.
