This record store has been a go-to destination for music lovers in Osprey, Florida, for many years. The store's selection is impressive, with a vast array of genres, including rock, jazz, and R&B/soul. The owner, Joe, is extremely knowledgeable and helpful, often spending hours with customers to find the perfect record. He is also very friendly and approachable, making the shopping experience feel like a personalized treasure hunt. The store's prices are very reasonable, with many albums priced at under $10. While some customers have noted that prices can be steep for rare or collector's items, overall, the store offers great value for the quality of the records. The store's cash-only policy can be a challenge for some customers, but it's also a reflection of the owner's commitment to keeping prices low and being transparent about his business practices. One issue that has arisen in the past is the store's policy on dealing with dealers or resellers. Some customers have reported being asked to leave the store if they're suspected of buying records to resell. While this may be a necessary measure to protect the store's inventory, it's essential to communicate this policy clearly to customers to avoid misunderstandings.Overall, Daddy O's Record Rack is a hidden gem in Sarasota's music scene. With its vast selection, knowledgeable owner, and reasonable prices, it's a must-visit destination for any music enthusiast. Just be sure to come prepared with cash and a willingness to dig through the shelves to find the perfect record.
