Ever wanted to learn the art of elegant hand lettering? Join Margot Griffin for a beginner-friendly, three-hour workshop exploring the fundamentals of pointed pen calligraphy. You’ll get familiar with the essential tools, practice basic strokes, and discover techniques used in both traditional and contemporary lettering.
During the class, you’ll explore how pointed pen calligraphy differs from broad-edge styles and experiment with pressure-sensitive writing tools. Margot will introduce you to foundational strokes inspired by classic styles like Copperplate and Spencerian, along with modern brush lettering. You’ll also learn how to set up, handle, and care for straight and oblique dip pens, nibs, and other calligraphy essentials.
You don’t need any previous experience, artistic background, or drawing skills to participate. All materials are provided, making this a great opportunity to try something new and develop a creative skill at your own pace.
