This place is a must-visit for those interested in history and culture. The National Park Service has done an excellent job in making the facilities, programs, and services accessible to everyone. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and the visitors center is well-maintained. The park offers a variety of activities, including walking trails, a museum, and a gift shop. The trails are well-marked and easy to navigate, and the scenery is beautiful, with mangrove forests and water views.One of the highlights of the park is the movie in the visitors center, which provides a brief but informative history of the area and the De Soto expedition. The staff is also very helpful and provides excellent customer service. The park is well-suited for families with children, as there are plenty of activities and exhibits for kids to enjoy. The park is also dog-friendly, which is a nice bonus.However, there are some issues with the park. The visitor center is small, and the exhibits could be more extensive. Additionally, some of the signs and displays could be more informative and detailed. Overall, this park is a hidden gem that is definitely worth visiting.One of the issues with the park is the presence of creepy wooden cutouts of Native Americans and Conquistadors that can be unsettling.
